Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using Bridge ("the App," "Platform," "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use Bridge.
If you are under 18 years old, your parent or legal guardian must review and agree to these Terms on your behalf.
1. Definitions
- "Bridge," "we," "us," "our": The Bridge mentorship platform and its operators
- "User," "you," "your": Any person who accesses or uses the Service
- "Student": A user seeking mentorship
- "Mentor": An approved user providing mentorship
- "Session": A scheduled mentorship meeting between a student and mentor
- "Content": Any text, images, information, or materials posted on the Platform
- "Minor": Any user under 18 years of age
2. Eligibility
2.1 Age Requirements
To use Bridge, you must: - Be at least 13 years old - If under 18, have parental or guardian consent - Provide accurate age information
2.2 Account Requirements
To create an account, you must: - Provide accurate and complete information - Maintain the security of your account credentials - Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use - Be legally capable of entering into binding contracts
2.3 Prohibited Users
You may not use Bridge if you: - Have been previously banned from the Platform - Are a registered sex offender - Have been convicted of crimes involving minors - Are prohibited by law from using the Service
3. Account Registration
3.1 Creating an Account
When you create an account: - You agree to provide truthful, accurate information - You are responsible for all activity on your account - You must maintain the confidentiality of your password - You must be a real person (no bots or fake accounts)
3.2 Parental Consent (For Minors)
If you are under 18: - You must provide a parent/guardian's email address - Your parent/guardian will receive a consent request - Your account will be restricted until consent is received - Your parent/guardian can review and manage your account
3.3 Mentor Verification
To become a mentor, you must: - Complete the mentor application process - Provide accurate credentials (university, employment, etc.) - Wait for approval from our team - Agree to additional mentor guidelines - Undergo background verification (where applicable)
4. User Conduct
4.1 Acceptable Use
You agree to: - Use Bridge for lawful mentorship purposes only - Treat all users with respect and professionalism - Provide honest and accurate information - Attend scheduled sessions or provide reasonable notice of cancellation - Use appropriate language and behavior
4.2 Prohibited Conduct
You must NOT:
General Prohibitions: - Harass, bully, threaten, or intimidate other users - Use offensive, discriminatory, or hateful language - Share false, misleading, or fraudulent information - Impersonate another person or entity - Spam or send unsolicited commercial messages
Content Prohibitions: - Post illegal, harmful, or dangerous content - Share sexual, explicit, or inappropriate material - Promote violence, self-harm, or illegal activities - Infringe on intellectual property rights - Share personal contact information publicly (phone numbers, addresses)
Platform Misuse: - Attempt to bypass age verification or parental consent - Create multiple accounts or fake profiles - Use automated tools, bots, or scrapers - Interfere with or disrupt the Service - Attempt to gain unauthorized access to systems - Reverse engineer or copy the Platform
Mentorship Misconduct: - Request or arrange meetings outside the Platform - Solicit money or gifts from students - Engage in any form of grooming behavior - Share inappropriate personal information - Cancel sessions repeatedly without cause - Provide intentionally harmful advice
4.3 Consequences of Violations
Violations may result in: - Warning or temporary suspension - Permanent account termination - Reporting to parents/guardians (for minors) - Reporting to law enforcement (for illegal activity) - Legal action
5. Mentorship Sessions
5.1 Booking and Scheduling
- Students can book sessions with available mentors
- Mentors set their own availability
- Sessions should be conducted through Platform-approved channels
- Both parties should attend sessions on time
5.2 Cancellation Policy
- Either party may cancel with at least 24 hours notice (recommended)
- Last-minute cancellations should be avoided
- Repeated cancellations may result in account restrictions
- No refunds are issued (the Service is free)
5.3 Session Conduct
During sessions: - Maintain professional and appropriate behavior - Focus on mentorship and career guidance - Do not share excessive personal information - Keep discussions platform-appropriate - Do not request to move conversations off-platform
5.4 No Guarantee of Outcomes
Bridge facilitates mentorship connections but does not guarantee: - Specific career outcomes or job placements - University admissions - Improvement in specific skills - Availability of particular mentors
6. Content and Intellectual Property
6.1 Your Content
You retain ownership of content you post, but by posting content you grant Bridge: - A worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license - To use, copy, modify, distribute, and display your content - For the purpose of operating and improving the Service - This license ends when you delete your content or account
6.2 Bridge's Intellectual Property
Bridge owns all rights to: - The Platform design, features, and functionality - Bridge name, logo, and branding - Original content created by Bridge (guides, templates, etc.)
You may not: - Copy, modify, or distribute Bridge's intellectual property - Use Bridge branding without permission - Create derivative works based on the Platform
6.3 User-Generated Content
Bridge does not: - Endorse user-generated content - Verify the accuracy of user information - Guarantee the quality of mentorship advice
We may remove content that violates these Terms or our policies.
7. Privacy and Data
7.1 Privacy Policy
Your use of Bridge is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Please review our Privacy Policy at [link].
7.2 Data Security
While we implement security measures, you acknowledge: - No system is completely secure - You are responsible for your account security - You should not share sensitive information through the Platform
7.3 Communications
By using Bridge, you consent to receive: - Essential service communications (booking confirmations, etc.) - Important safety and policy updates - Optional notifications (which you can disable)
8. Safety and Reporting
8.1 Safeguarding Commitment
Bridge is committed to protecting minors. We: - Screen and approve all mentors - Monitor for inappropriate behavior - Maintain reporting mechanisms - Cooperate with authorities on safety issues
8.2 Reporting System
If you encounter inappropriate behavior: - Use the in-app report function immediately - Provide detailed information about the incident - We will investigate all reports promptly - Serious violations will be reported to authorities
8.3 Mandatory Reporting
We are legally obligated to report: - Suspected child abuse or neglect - Threats of violence or self-harm - Illegal activity involving minors
9. Disclaimers
9.1 Service "As Is"
Bridge is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, including: - Uninterrupted or error-free service - Accuracy of information - Quality of mentorship - Compatibility with your device
9.2 No Professional Advice
Bridge facilitates mentorship but: - Advice is not professional career counseling - Mentors are not licensed therapists or counselors - Information is for guidance only, not professional advice - You should verify important information independently
9.3 Third-Party Content
We are not responsible for: - Advice or information provided by mentors - Content posted by users - Third-party websites linked from Bridge - Actions taken based on mentorship advice
10. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:
10.1 Damages
Bridge and its operators shall not be liable for: - Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages - Loss of profits, data, or opportunities - Emotional distress or personal injury - Damages arising from use of the Service - Damages from interactions with other users
10.2 Maximum Liability
Our total liability shall not exceed: - £100 (one hundred British pounds), or - The amount you paid to use Bridge (which is zero, as it's free)
10.3 Exceptions
These limitations do not apply where prohibited by law or for: - Death or personal injury caused by our negligence - Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation - Any other liability that cannot be excluded by law
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Bridge and its operators from: - Claims arising from your use of the Service - Your violation of these Terms - Your violation of any rights of third parties - Content you post on the Platform - Your interactions with other users
12. Termination
12.1 By You
You may terminate your account at any time by: - Using the account deletion feature in the app - Contacting support@bridge-mentorship.com
12.2 By Us
We may suspend or terminate your account: - For violation of these Terms - For violation of our policies - For illegal activity - To comply with legal requirements - At our discretion for safety reasons
12.3 Effect of Termination
Upon termination: - Your access to the Service ends immediately - Your data will be deleted per our Privacy Policy - These Terms survive termination where applicable - Sections 6, 9, 10, 11, and 13 survive termination
13. Dispute Resolution
13.1 Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict of law principles.
13.2 Informal Resolution

13.3 Jurisdiction
You agree that any legal action must be brought in the courts of England and Wales.

You agree to bring claims individually, not as part of a class action or representative proceeding.
14. General Provisions
14.1 Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by: - Posting updated Terms in the app - Sending an email notification - Requiring you to accept new Terms
Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
14.2 Severability
If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full effect.
14.3 Waiver
Our failure to enforce any provision does not constitute a waiver of that provision.
14.4 Assignment
You may not assign these Terms. We may assign our rights and obligations to another entity.
14.5 Entire Agreement
These Terms, along with our Privacy Policy and Safeguarding Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Bridge.
14.6 Force Majeure
We are not liable for delays or failures due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
14.7 Language
These Terms are written in English. Any translations are for convenience only.
